Short video:

Just taken it for an (illegal :innocent: ) spin round the block. This thing is very focused. Its going to be mind blowingly quick on the track...

Its a SuperStock spec tuned R1 for racing. It isnt legal for the road as it has no lights, indicators, registration plate, road worthy tyres (its on semi slicks) or legal exhaust system.... :)

Nice, I miss my road an track bikes. I had to give up racing as it cost to much in the end, an I sold my road bike to go single.

So you have that as a fun bike for track days? What does something like that cost, must be over 10k right?

How come you afford that but only have a Supra for your day-to-day car? Do you have a sponsor that buys your bikes or something like that?

(no offence like, just seems kinda odd)

Well its actually going to be used for racing. The track days are purely a way to fine tune the bike and your skills before racing. This bike cost over £30k to build from scratch. Its had over 200 hours on the dyno as well, fettling it. They are certainly not cheap. I bought it after it was used for the Isle of Man TT, with 433 miles on the clock, so it didnt cost me 30k, but still not cheap!!

The reason I 'only' drive a Supra for a day to day car is just that, I cant afford anything more expensive (that cost me nearly 14k), as all my money goes into bikes. I have my car up for sale as we speak to fund more bike equipment and racing costs. Dont get me wrong, I love my Supra, but nothing comes close to the excitement I can get on a bike on the track.

looks like it needs anchors to tie it down, otherwise it might float away.

How much does it weigh?

Its light, seriously light. I dont have a figure yet, but weight has been cut everywhere on it. Its considerably lighter than a production R1.

Thats lurvely....cant wait to get my bike now :D

What you going for?

Initially a 600 mate as ive only ridden strokers before (RGV250/rs 250 Aprilia) so maybe James' R6 or a gsxr600 srad something along those lines

Sounds like an excellent move. Ive not ridden an R6, but the gixxers are nice. I recently rode a CBR600RR on the track and they are very nice too - have you looked at them?

lovely lovely machines but with me running a supra AND a company car now a cbr600rr is gona be a bit out of my price range :innocent: but ive always loved the look of the gsxr srad with the bubble seat etc also looked at the L1 (i think) 97-00 zx7r kwakky....lovely looking bikes but probably a bit oo much for me at the moment

you can pick up ZX7r's pretty cheap now, from £1500... still a good bike look nice and a very easy bike to ride.. seat height is a little low.

yeh thats what i noticed to jamie, especially with me being vertically challenged (5'7 on a good day). its weird how most 600's seem to have higher seats then the 750+

Ive always liked the ZX-7's, very nice bikes and like Jamie says, you can pick them up for good money. Personally I would look into these as well. They still look the nuts in my opinion, and will be easier to sell than the gixxer down the line, as they are still very desirable....
