Getrag
Using a Sony Digital 8 camcorder im trying to get the movies on to my PC but having some bother. I've tried 2 editing softwares now but whenever I preview the video on the software its in really low resolution. I've tried every single option on the software (Ulead) but it doesnt seem to work. (and also on W.movie maker while it still worked). Im starting to think its something to do with the camera but again ive tried all the options on it. Any ideas? Getrag
Are there any window settings you can think of that are preventing the full detail video getting through?
AntD
I've got a Sony Diigital-8 and had no problems using Windows Movie Maker.
Getrag
Well, I obviously do have difficulty getting the videos on to the computer. Any ideas anyone?
sdavies
Hiya, Have you tried completely removing all the ULead software (came with the CC?) - and possibly the drivers for the camcorder (Is it USB or Firewire?). Plug the camcordeer back in and let it set up and provide the drivers for it - another thought, have you got the latest drivers for the model you have? Once this has set itself up try Windows Movie Maker again, it worked surprisingly wwell for me after I removed the ULead gash. Cheers, Simon. Marco
With a firewire cable you should be able to use full res without a problem, any software will do.
Pete
I've had loads of trouble with mine in the past, only fixed with a reinstall. Not what you want to hear.
Jake
Uninstalling all unnecessary CoDecs can often make Windows Movie Maker work again (or work heaps better). WMM is a good tool for converting camcorder footage but to be honest whatever you use it's gonna be a slow and painful process. Getting 60mins footage from camcorder will take 60mins whatever app you use - and that's before you start editing or converting it - Good Luck! In this day and age it's about time the domestic DV hardware manufacturers got their act together and gave us something that can get DV from a capure device in a decent timescale - like 30x minimum
