Thunderstorm freakiness

So there I am, driving back from the gun club late at night with a couple of friends, it's about 11:30pm, and a badass thunderstorm has been tapdancing all over norfolk since about 6pm.

On the Thetford-to-Brandon road I start getting a lot of debris on the road, like when a storm passes through and takes trees apart. Sorta like leaves with bits of branch still attached, loads and loads of them on the road.

I start covering the brake with the left foot as I'm expecting (from experience!) to go round a corner and find half a tree sat across the road in front of me.

A faint alarm bell starts ringing because I'm still not seeing any larger debris. And then.... a bit of debris hopped across the road in my headlights.

Frogs. Every last one of them was frogs. Most of them had been burst by cars, and I'd scored a fair few myself. Literally thousands of them, the density was about 3 per square metre, for about two miles.

Then I realised what the funny smell permeating into the cabin was. Frog Juice.

It was suprisingly traumatic :( I didn't dare check the wheel wells etc, I'm just glad I had 40 miles to go in the rain to wash it all off.

I've heard of this phonomenum with fish.

I think its to do with mini whirlwinds picking up animals and dropping them off elsewhere.

Aahhhh, that explains the two slightly lost looking gorgeous blondes I saw in Portsmouth the other weekend....it was raining hard there too
