I came in from a club many years ago and there was nothing to eat so i made some toast and spread Ketchup on one and HP sauce on the other. i think it was alright, i was very very drunk at the time and even stumbled launching the hp sauce one onto a wall were it stuck :D Most humourous :rlol:

 

ha ha ha ha, I really really hope you had the sense to clear it up. I can hear it now. :clap:

I've had ketchup on toast before also, it fills a hole

 

I get annoyed when people frown when I have ketchup in addition to beans - some people seem to think the sauce is the same - well I have news for you - IT IS NOT, SO GET OFF MY BACK ABOUT IT ALREADY! :p

 

But you will be tarnishing the beans with the taste of the ketchup - its not right. :D

 

I've resorted to just eating cold beans from a tin before when massively hungry and in a rush - really it's not that bad :)

 

im prone to a can of cold beans and cold processed peas.

 

 

Sabrina likes cheese and beans in here Toasties. But then she is the same girl who will eat raw potato's and sausages :(

 

mmmmmmmmmm raw sausage meat is very tasty although i don't recommend that people eat it

 

Nothing wrong with raw pototoes

 

 

Also I do not understand brown sauce

I approach my food from all sides, sometimes eating each element separately like a cuisinal sniper, sometimes combining two elements like some gastronomic vivisectionist or sometimes mixing it all like a ruffneck DJ. Scratchin de plate and dropping da mash potatoe bom.

I don't like HP sauce though.

Oh and i never put sauce (tomato ketchup, brown sauce etc.) directly on my food, i like to have it seperately and dip my food in when i want it!

Yep, that sounds pretty normal...

 

 

I make little mouth size parcels of my food with a bit of each part on the plate.

Yep, that too...

 

 

I mix the foods up on a per-mouthful basis, that way I can have a bit of sausage by itself, a bit of sausage with gravy, or even some sausage with mash, and peas...oh the variety. I can also vary the mixture each mouthful that way, until I find the perfect mix.:tumble:

Spot on! Except the peas, ewwww.......

Ah well, another burnt offering to the god Keith Floyd coming up.

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup unsalted butter

1/2 (16 ounce) package phyllo dough

2 cups chopped pecans

1 1/2 tablespoons whole cloves

1 1/2 cups water

1/3 cup white sugar

1 cinnamon stick

1 cup honey

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Melt the butter over low heat. Pour 2 tablespoons of the butter into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking pan. Layer 3 sheets of the phyllo dough in the pan. Trim dough to fit. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of pecans over the phyllo dough. Layer 3 more sheets of dough, brush generously with the melted butter, and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of pecans. Continue dough -butter- pecan layers until pan is 3/4 full.

With a sharp knife, score phyllo dough to form diamonds. Press a clove at each end of the diamonds. Pour remaining butter over the dough.

Bake 45 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.

Meanwhile, combine the sugar, water and cinnamon stick in a medium saucepan, and bring to boil, stirring constantly. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Add the honey and simmer for 2 minutes longer. Remove from heat and discard cinnamon stick. Pour honey mixture over hot baklava. Let cool on wire racks. Cut into diamonds.

 

Sorted. All Ive got to do now is find someone who knows what a cooker looks like.

Do you really think so Charlotte ? Or are you just joshing with me. I suppose I could have a go...its been a few years, but I think I'm over the Shepherds Pie incident even if the kids still have nightmares now and again. Besides, it was all Janes fault...out on the razz with her friends leaving me with that mountain of resposibility and the most cryptic of instructions as what to do with heat and time and water and, oh I cant go on...the memories are just too painful
