tbourner
I'm hankering for a CBR600. http://www.sobreruedas.biz/modules/Analisis_Motos/images/motos/cbr600rr%202.jpg I love the front lights on the new ones, but would only be getting an older '99 shape probably. Not quite as quick as a Duc but I'd be learning on it so plenty quick enough!
JamieP
There not very fast..any modern 600cc 4 stroke bikes would wipe the floor with one..... but hey they look nice and if speed aint your thing go for it.
grahamc
I am not a bike fan, but that is awesome!! I still remember seeing one of the older Ducatis in Camps Bay (South Africa), yellow, 918 (???something like that) in yellow, with this gorgous blonde on the back with matching bikini... SUPRASUZUKI
Nice looking bikes, but a bit cramped if you're over 6ft tall. Depends what you're after. If it's looks then no prob's, if it's performance then leave it alone unless you spend all your time in the twisties up against 600s (and you're a decent rider). PS I've only seen 3 bikes fail engines on track days and they were all Ducatis. PPS The Jap bikes in WSB and BSB have to run with restrictors to give the Ducatis a fair chance. Edit:- 1 Litre sportsbikes will eat this alive even if they're only riden half decently.
Mas
Thanks for the comments guys. JamieP
I woud think you would get a nice K3 gsxr1000 for that sort of money... but have you had a superbike before.. 1 litre sports bike is a devastating tool that will get you in trouble very quickly.... might be best to start with one of the 600cc bikes for a few months. Mas
NO mate never had a suprbike, so shall I just forget about the 1litre + and stay under that for a while then ? in that case which 600 or anything around that would you suggest? CBR's any good ?
SUPRASUZUKI
Mas, how old are you and how much experience have you on the road? Just asking as a 25 year old lad I work just bought an R1 as his first bike. He's got an Elise plus had a few quick cars, done lots of track days in cars, so is quite handy when it comes to speed (in cars). He's been on the road since 17 so 8 years experience. He high-sided at Snetterton on the morning of his first bike track day. Having followed him round the track, he clearly has lots to learn about bikes, let alone his R1. So, fast car experience doesn't equal fast bike experience. (This may work in reverse though, I'll let you know....) In summary, I'd start with a smaller bike and lean how to ride first. JamieP
yea i think you would be best of with 600 for a few months (also id be supprised if you could get insured on a 1000 for you first superbike;) ) There all pretty good... cbr is ment to to the easyest to ride but there aint much in it with all of them... id just go with what you lik the look of most;)

Thanks for the very king advices mate, Im 26 and TBH the biggest bike I did ride in the past is 125, so as you and Jamie said I'd better off getting a smaller bike for now and get used to how manage the bike then think about bigger ones like R1's etc. Thanks for the advise mate much appratiated yea i think you would be best of with 600 for a few months (also id be supprised if you could get insured on a 1000 for you first superbike;) ) There all pretty good... cbr is ment to to the easyest to ride but there aint much in it with all of them... id just go with what you lik the look of most;) You win Jamie , I'll go for a nice looking smaller bike for now as you said its best for starting to get used to bigger bikes like that, in this case I may only spend a couple of £G's for a starter bike and dont think about loans and getting a big bike , That ll be some spending money left for the Supra aswell,.... again
