Bob
Depends on budget mate. A total refurb with new parts would be into the thouands.

Bob
WD40 the EGBV actuator arm (down the back of number 2) and replace the vacuum hoses. Most people go for silicon hoses for looks, but ideally go for rubber hoses (you can get cotton-braided rubber vacuum hose from Demon Tweeks) would be a good start. Also replace the EGCV hoses and check the VSVs and actuator valves. The EGBV pipes are an absolute b*stard. Expect a lot of swearing and scraped knuckles! :edit: I had problems with no2 previously where it was stuttering, turned out to be duff coil-packs (I think - I replaced the fuel pump at the same time as well though) If everything else is fine, it could also be your pressure tank has popped it's clogs which would explain no pre-spool (well, that's my understanding of it anyway! )
Dragonball
My bad - thought he meant turbos... DOH!
Ian C
Mmm I think he meant the sequential system and not the actual turbo units It's a tricky thing to refurb, you'd have to take the turbos off, which immediately gives you a couple of hundred quid in gaskets and coolant and oil and stuff, as well as a nightmare taking the damn things off. Then check and replace if necessary each hose (lots of them). Check the function of each VSV and make sure they can be energised from the wiring in the footwell. Make sure the actuators work and aren't sticky. And test the pressure tank too, which is another nightmare to get to. Then bolt it all back together. It's kinda easier just to fix each problem as they come along -Ian

Bob
The pressure tank is a little cylindrical, um, tank hidden under your inlet manifold iirc and pressurizes the actuators to help them work freely or something like that. AFAIK it's a ball-ache to get out but easy enough to test. I'll see if I can scan in the Toyota manual pages this evening

ManwithSupra
Did you have any luck with getting the stuff from the manual?
