RobSheffield
Can we have a show of hands (or just post up saying 'me') if you have had to change your nearside rear bearing yet not had issues with your offside. I am pretty sure i have seen a few people discuss this recently, so dont be shy, lets see if we can identify a pattern PM me if you would, for any reason, prefer not to post

RobSheffield
nearside?offside? I've had my rear left done. Nearside = kerbside = nearest the kerb = right as you look at the car
Whitesupraboy2
Nearside = kerbside = nearest the kerb = right as you look at the car The simple answer would be if sat in the drivers seat the left side of the car is the nearside...so your a yes Freakins
RobSheffield
And people ask why i dont post on here much ok, so it appears 2 people...any more?
Muffleman
Mine were noisy on my stock Supe, so I had the one changed that seemed noisiest - offside. It turns out it was the noisiest, but the nearside was almost as noisy Getting the nearside done Friday. So looks like both mine were noisy at the same time
RobSheffield
Mine has failed twice on my nearside (left sat in car/kerbside/whatever) yet the offside is perfectly fine and dandy. I also saw a few others recently post up. Any thoughts, i cant see there being an appreciable difference in the casting. During discussion with Tlicense on here a while ago, it emerged that the bearings we buy now are different to those on the EPC. I wonder if this is a sign of something or other. I remember a thread where Chris Wilson gave his view on why one side appeared to go more then the other but i cant find it. Too many wheel bearing threads. Kranz
Is it cos you keep hooning around roundabouts putting much more weight transfer onto the nearside rear wheel when under power???
RobSheffield
Nope, i dont hoon much, but under that sort of theory the entrance to the hoon would put pressure on the offside. CW sugggested 'clouting' kerbs but i never hit one with enough force to do damage, surely we are not all guilty?
carl0s
More grids and general road shitness by the edge of the road?
RobSheffield
More grids and general road shitness by the edge of the road? A possibility! I just wondered if it was:- 1) Toyota being shite at installing it into the hub 2) The new bearing being a 'cheaper' version of the old, and therefore less reliable
carl0s
It wouldn't matter so much if these bearings were £20, and easy to install like the Nova one I had to do a while back.
