Refurb - Split rims - polished lip / rim

Recommended Posts

I spoke to a alloy wheel refurbing company when i had my previous car about getting my two front wheels refurbed. The first thing he said is "there not split rims are they". I said i didnt think so and he confirmed they werent but now owning the supra i think i now have split rims and will be wanting a refurb in a few weeks and wondered what the implications are.

I think i have another problem too as the rims are polished, how does that sit with a refurb, is it a problem?!

Any traders who offer refurbing services that think they would be able to help me out, please could you qoute me some prices. All wheels are in v.good condition, just not mint anymore!!!!

Thanks

Matt

I got quoted £400 for all 4 wheels including a colour change in the centre of the wheel. Check out Jtuners feature, I can't remember the name of the company but it was on the top right of the righthand page of the feature. They repaired one of my wheels and I asked for a quote to get all of them refurbed. It takes around 2 weeks but they get the lip mirror polished and they come back good as new.

I will try and dig out the company name later on for you.

HTH :)

WOW, you guys are paying alot. im getting mine done at the moment one badly damaged, one minor, and also getting new colour. All for £180. A place called Carrick Engineering, all they deal with is wheels. And got a good rep.

yours aren't split rims though are they? They don't look it from your garage pics. I can get non split rims done for around £40 a wheel

There not but, i managed to fry one of them really bad, so im getting it repaired. Would of cost me alot less for getting them refurbed. without the repair adding to it.
