Stock TC is excellent!

I know that comment goes somewhat against the commonly accepted view here, but hear me out. I did a whole day of driver training yesterday - slaloms, hairpins, fast and slow cornering, grip circles, the works. Most disciplines I tried with and without the stock TC switched on, and it made a trivial difference...

Finally we got to string all the skills together on a sprint circuit. 4 runs, 2 of which I did with TC, 2 without TC. Guess which 2 were faster. I'm talking properly faster too, like several seconds out of a sub-60 second course.

Turns out the TC is VERY well tuned for helping you when you're really blitzing the car, but possibly not for those times when you drive like a twat, with full boost in the wet.

Last note: I've got a factlift model, which has "snow" mode, as well as TC on/off. Maybe Toyota tuned the system up a bit, even though I keep hearing the same system described as "dangerous".

I find that the stock TC is ok if you let it do its work and you don't. i.e. if you boot it and the wheels start to spin don't back of and let the TC do it's job then it is ok, but if you back of as well as the TC it's rubbish because it doesn't react to your actions, I have to say that I drive with it turned of most of the time.
