Faye
I found the ones at Halfrauds fitted a treat to my J-Spec.

My mum was quite pleased with herself as she'd never helped fit a battery to a car before!

tbourner
I've gotta change my battery soon. I got a Halfrauds calcium one, sounds pretty good (bloody expensive enough!!!!). One question, will it break if I just unplug and replug the next one? I've been told the alarm (Laserline 291) will not go off if I deactivate it (with the button), and hopefully it won't reactivate itself before I do the job! But I'm worried about the ECU etc., any tips? Or just straight swap them and stop worrying?

tbourner
The bloody terminals on the Halfrauds battery are too big!!!! Had to go and get a refund. Are j-spec battery terminals smaller or have they been changed or something?
Whitesupraboy2
tip take the battery with you!!! jap terminals are slightly different sizes. if your having problem you could just by UK terminals to put on the wires and then you wont have a problem
SimonB
Halfords do sell a battery that has the correct terminals for a Jspec, they've just given you the wrong one. You want a HCB005 (or HB005 for the non-calcium one). It's down on their list as fitting a Scooby or something.
tbourner
That's the one I got: HCB005, and it doesn't fit. They said all their terminals are the standard size, but mine are much smaller so the +ve and -ve lead terminals don't fit over the new battery terminals!! secondjump
Dude, try B005L type battery - thats what I looked for down my local garage. This fits the j-spec terminals.
