The vacuum guage (plumbed into the intake manifold) is effectively an engine load gauge - its an inderect measure of how hard your engine is working. Early BMWs used a similar gadget as an "econometer" to give you an idea of what MPG you were getting at any given time.

 

As for a temp gauge, I assume you mean intake air temp? Colder the better but why have a gauge???

 

Airflow controller? Isn't that a throttle? No idea about that one.

 

Do you have any more details?
