KaoriFan
thought it was a put-on jobbie. no way would a caravan park let that go on. if so, i am sure BBC/Top Gear, would be sued senseless. was funny though, when they drove home, and they were towing the burnt out shell when they tried to turn the caravan in the road, i think says it all. could have driven a bit further and found a place to do it, even a road junction. but to do it in the road, for 20 minutes and think its a laugh. how many of us laughed at that part of the prog, then realised how annoyed if we were stuck there. does anyone remember the old Top Gear (the original), with William Wollard and Chris Goffey, they were good, used to go to car museums and private collection for the classic/sports cars, or anything vehicle related. i still watch it today, but its more a comedy show now. how many times do they test cars on the track, but rarely do the sports cars on the open road for everyday use. Clarkson may be good on the track (maybe), but is deadly on the road, ovetaking 3 car's on a single carriageway, with no clear view to see if he can get back in. best thing was in last weeks, where they took the toyota, Triumph herald, and camper van onto the lake they did the countach and GT40 from yesteryear, would be nice to see other good GT/sports cars. would like to see how a Supra would go against the current opposition
tbourner
Star in a rubbish car is pants, that should be stopped. They should also stop doing so many 'green' features, I don't want to see how good the new Golf is up against a Fiesta ST, I want to see PORN!! It's Top Gear FFS, it needs to have the fastest most expensive cars tearing round the track for an hour, leave the serious car testing to 'Driven' and other boring every day shows, Top Gear should be reserved for the tongue in cheek 'testing' that we all know and love - I'd NEVER use a TG test to sway my decision on a car, they're farcical, and good thing too it makes excellent viewing!! TG needs to stay as car porn, if it gets watered down by the 'please show me some affordable cars' brigade I'll stop watching because JC does annoy me. Darren-K
the worst bit is when JC praises a car for half an hour.., then go`s................. BUT.......
Thorin
Most of their features like the caravan thing are staged, I moaned about that the first time it was on, suggesting it was going down hill and that next they'd start reviewing people carriers like on "Pulling Power"... Guess what they had a review of the next week.
RedM
does anyone remember the old Top Gear (the original), with William Wollard William Wollard. He was the guy that couldn't pronounce pounds. He'd say things like "This Jaguar costs many punds". Fool.
KaoriFan
William Wollard. He was the guy that couldn't pronounce pounds. He'd say things like "This Jaguar costs many punds". tbourner
the worst bit is when JC praises a car for half an hour.., then go`s................. BUT....... Actually, ALL reviews are like that, if you look at them. They will always start off saying the opposite to their overall opinion, and then turn it around by the end. It makes sure they tell both sides of the story.

I think Neighbours, Enders and Emmerdale are shat so I don't watch them. TG is automotive porn, if Jezza was doing the show back in 1993, just as it is done now, then he would have had a TT on there screaming round a track... in an, as then, unobtainable supercar. We would all be thinking, F##k 'me i'd love one of those... lo and behold ten years (ish) on, some of us are lucky enough to have one. They have to show you the pinnacle of motoring otherwise whats the point? You might as well head down Macca's on a friday night and check out the monsters down there. Oh and bring back Volvo vs Quarry Darts, That was the funniest tv I think the beeb has ever shown. Hail Top Gear! May it rule for all time! Scoboblio
I don't watch top gear to see cars I could actually buy, if I wanted that, I'd buy auto trader! Top gear is a truly unique program, in so much as even non car enthusiasts watch it because it's pure entertainment. All except the star in a resonably priced car bit, I can't stand that now and just fast forward it - they've been doing it for too long IMO. I like the star in a car bit, I admit some weeks are better than others but on the whole it can be pretty amusing. ... And who here wouldn't like a chance round that track to see how you compare to the 'stars'?
