hogmaw
Someone please tell me the point of these 'baby on board' things that you see in car windows. And 'Little princess on board' etc. WHY?
Thorin
Don't get me started, I get an overwhelming urge to ram them off the road.
Rob
It's so that if you're in an uncontrollable skid and you see this sign you can somehow steer your vehicle away from colliding with a car which has been designed to withstand impact and will dissipate some of your kinetic energy, and instead look for a big tree, brick wall or concrete bridge support to hit instead. Ewen
I used to think they were an attempt to excuse the crap car they were stuck to, as having a baby is expensive so the car budget had suffered...then they appeared on more expensive 4x4s and such, so then I imagined they were an attempt to put off car-jackers, as a baby isnt so easy to strip down and sell for parts. Now I think its because a woman cant go into a shop and buy just one thing...petrol on its own doesnt fulfil the desire, but a nice shiny yellow sticker as well will satisfy them long enough to last till LetsgoTesco time. Kittyclaws
Makes aggresive drivers tone down the tailgating and general driving like a cock! Yeah right,, It's so you have advance warning that they will be taking more notice of the baby than the road. They are a bloody nightmare

Its a bit like L-plates they just leave em stuck on even if the learner isnt driving!

Muffleman
Well as a fairly new parent, I think they are a good idea. They explain why you may be driving a little slower than the average loony. Declare you have a child and your insurance goes down because you are a more careful driver. When I drive the family wagon, I may aswell have Ms. Daisy in the back When in the Supe ? That's different And tbh, if these signs get you bent out of shape, then go polish the car, go for a run or do something with your energy, there are more serious things on this planet which you should get annoyed by

DaveK
I think they are ridiculous. Do people drive around trying to have accidents until they see one of those signs and then they think : oh, better be careful now? And if I do decide to drive around like a twat looking for an accident, I don't see why I should modify my behaviour because other people decide to have kids. I also agree with an earlier post - 9 times out of 10, the people with these signs in their car are driving appallingly badly.

Scoboblio
I once heard that they're also used to warn the authorities that there may be a small child in the car in the even of an accident / fire.... as if they wouldn't be trained to look for that already
