Complete sudden loss of power??

I have a jap tt auto

I was taking the car out for a spin last night, and after a couple of hours driving had accellerated hard with overdrive on from a rolling start of about 40mph.

When i reached 120 leps, i suddenly had a complete loss of pwer, the revs jumped right up and hit the rev counter. Basically it seemed like it wouldnt hit the final gear. I have never had this before. I got no error lights or anything thing like tht and it has driven fine since then, not tested at that speed again though.

Should i be worried or do you think this will be a one off??

:(

yeah but even on an auto???

im not worried if it is a characteristic, but im an absolute perfectionist. If there is something slightly wrong with the car, it mortifies me.

So it really can happen to a perfectly fuctioning auto box occasionally??? If so then i can accept that, but it means something more serious, i would like to know
