adi2009
Did a full decat on my Jspec TT (which has an Aristo engine) and fitted a Greddy BCC. After the decat, the car doesnt boost anymore than it used to bfore I did the decat. Any idea whether the wastegate or turbo's on the Aristo TT is different from a Jspec TT??? what else could be the reason??? Thanks
Guru
Pretty sure its the same stuff mate. What restrictor ring did you use?
wkdtime
Mate if you have a restrictor ring in place them remove it, you may require the EBC to increase the boost further if required. TBH mate not all JDM Supra's/Aristo's require a restrictor ring post full decat for some unknown reason, i know quite a few members who are full decat on JDM specs with no restrictor ring and only see 1.0bar Max. So the saying that all JDM supras will need a restrictor rings post full decat is not entirely true.

adi2009
infact I dont havea restrictor ring. the decat pipe is about 2 1/4 inches all through. However, sometime back I tried the VSV bypass mod and initially I was hitting 18-19 psi of boost with the stock exhaust. and 2 days later it just wouldnt boost past 12psi max. Later i checked for boost leaks and tightened the intercooler piping connections. Today I thought that maybe once I do a full decat I should be able to hit 15psi but the car just wont boost past 10 psi. I m pretty sure that the second turbo is working because there is am slight drop in boost at 4XXX Rpm and boost goes back up to 10psi. wkdtime
Have you tried running it in TTC (Hose Method)?
Clarkey
So the saying that all JDM supras will need a restrictor rings post full decat is not entirely true. I wonder if that implies leakage somewhere ?
adi2009
Have you tried running it in TTC (Hose Method)? I tried running in TTC. no luck so far Still boosts only around 10 psi
wkdtime
I wonder if that implies leakage somewhere ? Maybe...like i said no one has any deffinate info regarding why it's the case, also these cars have no problems with boost prior to the decat. wkdtime
I tried running in TTC. no luck so far Still boosts only around 10 psi Have you tried using the boost controller to increase the boost, sounds to me like a boost leak bud, you said when you did the VSV by pass you boosted around 1.2Bar and then shortly after this dropped down to 10psi...you could have split a hose, Check all boost pipes and I/C hoses for splits. I'd persoanlly try and remove each one one by one and properly inspect them.
adi2009
Ok will give it a shot again tomorrow. Do you think a split in one of the small vaccum hoses could cause such a huge leak? or would you suspect the the intercooler piping? Cheers

Cheers Either to be honest but more likely I/C piping, again mate to do this properly you must remove them one by one and proerly inspect them, the split may not even be that large. keep us posted! p.s it might be worth while to just replace the vac hoses with a hose tech kit or similar while your at it.
