toyotasuprauk
Basically if someone enters your house through an unlocked door and you hit them over the head with a bat you'll probably go down for assault. The scum will make up some excuse about not breaking in etc meaning no harm. It will be the person trying to protect their property labelled as a criminal and the car theft will be called the victim. Its not fair, its a joke but that's the justice system for you!
mawby
It might be best to leave this one now, although I am to blame for starting it! It's been discussed before and at the end of the day we all have our own opinions but can't/wont do anything about them. Lets just say that in this situation, Supra owners 1 theiving scum 0. Guest Michelle
Originally posted by mawby I agree with all said here, but I don't keep a baseball bat with me cause it's not worth it. What ya going to do with it? I'll tell you what, end up in the nick. You'd only have to scare the little s**ts with it and you'll be the one locked up, not them. Even hiding your keys can be a mistake cause if they have to look for them and accidentally trip over something or fall down the stairs trying to sneak around your house then they can sue you! I hate this country. Oh jesus! I hope no-one ever breaks into my house then, it's like an obstacle course! One bit of advice, if you DO hit someone NEVER EVER hit them as they are running away! Hit them in the front of their body, that way you can at least claim they were coming towards you and you felt threatened, it's called pre-emptive strike. You are (allegedly) allowed to hit someone to defend yourself even if you only think they are going to attack. If they are running from you then the danger is believed to be past so you'll be in 'vengeance mode'. Also, 57 puncture wounds is not defensible either, even if it's the front... the law will never believe you if you claim he 'kept on coming at me' 'Shell
Gaz Walker
Pheww... that was a close one Paul. Never ever leave your supra keys anywhere easy like that. The b*stards will have to fight me to get mine Gaz.

Tannhauser
Originally posted by paulfurn Some might call it poetic justice...... Just to quibble, it's not really poetic justice,is it? That would imply some sort of ironic consequence that fitted his particular crime. If, for example, the kid having just burgled a farm had fallen into a baling machine or been eaten by a cow, that would be poetic justic. Kopite
Glad you're ok mate!! probably another example of people looking through the internet for cars to steal! and before the scouser jokes start - i can confirm my whereabouts yesterday and have witnesses! have you thought about getting Blackjack (or whatever its called!) fitted? either that or some "Home Alone" style anti-thief devices glad the cars still there
lovatt
most modern cars that are stolen now are due to keys being stolen, at my old work we had three go in one day ! i actually sleep with my keys in the bed ! yes im am that sad ! as for getting in trouble for catching them some of you may have read my thread and the police were fine with the actions i took, but it could have easily gone the other way, i would have been going to court if the police hadnt have been so helpfull

Timwildman
Every time I read a stolen or nearly stole thread, makes me think about getting tracker. Then there is a bigger chance of the police actually catching someone red handed. (just so they can get let off, or get a nice holiday somewhere) Also it mean you dont need to worry abount confrontation.
dangerous brain
I have pro-active Nav-trac in my car but my faith in that has been dented a little recently. Pro-active nav track is a sensor within the car that as soon as the thing is either switched to ignition slot 2 or moved more than a metre without the sensor being de-activated the sattelite tracking station is alerted. Now that sounds fantastic and on paper it is but!!!!! My best mates brother is a BOOOO traffic copper.. Or should I say was!!!! He responded to a tracker stolen car alert, was given a specific location of a "stolen" according to tracker (which is non-proactive as fas as I am aware ie you have to tell them the car is gone to activate follow up procedure) vehicle. He blatted off in his rapid as fuck volvo marked car. In transit somewhere along the lines apparentley the code was reduced from an important to non-important response. Now the only reason that all this came to light is because around a corner the poor guy met a car on the wrong side of the road, unfortunatley under blues an 2's he wasn't going slow so avoidance didn't happen hence enquiry. I kind of digress but I think you see where I am going here. Even when given the exact location of a stolen motor the police are too overstretched to actually do anything about it. And when they do the poor fucker that tries gets himself fucked over by the system!!!!!
Syed Shah
Glad it didn't get nicked...close call. I agree with the sentiment in this thread: Someone breaks into/steals your property, you should be able to do what you want to them They've broken the law, so it shouldn't protect them. :flame Dev
dangerous brain
Well I will say one thing... Should any muppet try the wander into my house and nick my car keys in order to steal my car Bloody Good Luck to them!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spend approx 10 minutes per morning trying to locate my car keys. Now you would think I would learn my lesson and place said keys in the key box that i have just inside my front door!!!! Hell no that would be toooooo easy. No I place them under various leaflets or newspapers, under THAT pile of washing, in a sodding saucepan, and once in the sodding unlocked cars passengers door pocket!!! So bring it on twatty thief the only thing you will find in my house is utter confusion
Green Peace
PMSL at Dangerous (Dazed and Confused) Brain. Yep hallway is no place for car keys (letter box and Coathanger...good name for a pub) Glad they left with nothing, sounds like they were going to go fifty fifty, but my guess is they were so dum they may as well of waltzed into the house and asked the audience. I blame Grand Theft Auto, these games go to their heads, next they'll be hiring hookers , shaggin em then hitting em over the head with a baseball bat and taking their money back.
