outatime
Hi, Does anyone happen to know the right diameter and length for the screws that hold an 'A' pillar pod in place? The screws go into the existing bolt holes on the A pillar frame, the holes look about 5mm dia. to me... There are two holes, but I can only see one fitting as the gauge holder is over the lower one. AMG
I have a twin gauge holder that goes from the dash to just behind the drivers head above the window. Tried fixing it with screws but it looked ugly so i used Silicone Sealant to fix it up. Been up about six months now and had no problems at all. outatime
I might try that I was going to try to use the 'pop-in' connectors that are on the original pillar cover, they would be more tidy than screws but are difficult to line-up.
AMG
yeah that sounds better than screws anyway. The screws i used tended to come loose because i have quite a harsh ride in my soop.
outatime
No one got any ideas on the screw sizes? Someone must have fitted a pod using the same holes...
MR.B
If I remember right - they are 10mm bolts. I only used the one for the top hole because as you said the holder sits over the lower one. I got mine from a motorcycle shop - a nice black anodised allen headed one that sits lovely on the pillar and looks good too.
outatime
For anyone else who buys a pillar pod without the necessary fittings, the correct screw diameter is M6. I think around 20-25mm is about the right length...
