RedM Posted September 4, 2006 Share Posted September 4, 2006 Do stock tubbies make a sound from about 2k and up? I get a kinda whistling sound as tubbie one spools. It is clearly audible in the car. Is that okay? Death whine. Does this sound like a deep, low, spooky whistling sound as turbos spool up? I ask as a friend of mine has just had his turbo blow and had this noise prior to it. Worryingly, mine made this noise last winter but only until the car warmed up. Not heard it for months now. Thoughts? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My very similar noise started last winter and went when the weather warmed up. A search for 'death whine' reveals that it could be a resonance in the intake system. Hmm....
