RobEvans
does anybody know how easy it is to clock a supra? Iv been to look at one today at a traders, L reg, auto, tt for £6495 Only 38,000 mile. The outside is a little tatty and the inside needs new seat/retrim with wear on the hand brake but the engine looks like new. Just wondering if it clould have been clocked when it entered the UK? Any thoughts?
Jezz
Could easily have had the odo changed for a lower mileage one.
Getrag
Easily. Ask for the auction paperwork with mileage or any paper work infact from Japan. If it doesnt come, run. Infact, sounds like you should run anyway.

MrRalphMan
Is it mechanical or Electronic. The Electronic ones (LED_) can be done with a laptop and the right lead/software combo. Mechanical ones can always be 'doctored' I would have thought a 38K one should have had quite a decent interior, I spose it depends if there were lots and lots of short trips. MrRalphMan
Unless the 1 number has fallen off, it'll be at the front.

Rayman
Do a BIMTA mileage check on it, http://www.bimta.co.uk Thats providing it went japanese thru auction at some point! I did a check on one once months ago and that was clocked so be careful!
MrRalphMan
The mech ones should have 6 digit displays also, I think my MK1 Capri was the last car that I saw with a 5 digit display.
RobEvans
its a LED one, thanks for the imput guys, does anyone know how much it is to get the AA for example to check the car out?

stupra
Sounds fishy to me, a car with that sorta mileage wouldn't be worn on the inside, even if it hadn't been looked after on the outside. In my experiance, the Supra's seats are quite hard wearing.

jase_93tt
Quite possible it could have already been clocked in Japan before it arrived here.......
