PS3 buyers are gonna be eating their words I think..

Few things that I have heard is that the PS3 controllers cant have the vibration, plus FIFA or Pro EVO Soccer wont be on the PS3 for 12 months as Microsoft brought the rights, and also. At that games conference E3 the PS3 demos were run on a 360 as the PS3 would not work..

Sony PS3 is going to flop like a shaggy dogs hair style!

No chance.

Agreed.

I think you're underestimating how popular the Playstation is in Japan. I remember reading all the same things I'm hearing about the PS3 as I did for the PS2 (too expensive, difficult to program for, etc. etc.). If you thought the rush for XBox 360's was big, hold on tight.

Can someone point me in the direction of a thread that explains this "points" system ?

This thread is the first I've heard / seen about it.

Basically there are certain standard point infractions.

Abusive language, spamming etc... but as mods we can give custom levels of infractions where we feel appropriate E.g Banning for 24 hours for excessive abuse towards another member or if the language was beyond even bad levels we could give a custom level infraction E.g temporary ban.

Hope this clears it up a little bit.

Lol, how can people compare PS3 with a PC, a PC with a big graphics card and processor will always have better graphics, but you cant really take your PC to a mates house to have a mess about, half the games need to be configured, 9 times out of 10 the games are played on a montior.

What im trying to say is that the PS3 is very practical and portable, a PC is not.

Will PS3 be a hit.....? 100% it will.

Is it better than some high geeked up PC? No

Myself, I still have the "ye" olde Xbox and quite happy with it. I shant be upgrading to either the Xbox or the PS3 till - I can make a comparison based on the playability of the games.

Halo 1 & 2 - I thought were great. I hope Halo 3 will be something to look forward to.

I agree, PS3 is using technology that is only up to date as of when it is produced, new cards hit the market all the time for the PC which up to a point you can add to your system.

A quad gpu PC will wipe the floor with any games console !

Brand loyalty is very strong with the playstation and it is going to be a hit, i bet e bay will be full of them ;) @ twice the price of retail :D

And in a years time a single gpu PC will wipe the floor with any games console.

I guess the next step is multiprocessor (or multicore) GPU's which should do away with SLI tech.

The problem now is games are becmoing so huge in terms of content (i.e. massive graphics, effects and AI content) that making the things in the 1st place is becoming more and more costly. I was told years ago by someone in the industry that in his lifetime Games budgets would easily exceed those of blockbuster movies. We're not far away from that even now.

Nobody's mentioned that console games get exponentially better as the console ages - the first few games out always have good CGI vids but are otherwise a bit cack, so showing these current PS3 vids against an old XBOX360 is a bit pointless!!

Keep a 360 clip now, and compare it to a new PS3 game in 18 months.

I can't believe people still argue over which toy is best!

PC games are technically amazing - they'll always graphically push the boundries and be good for certain types of games. They generally have more resources and are continuosly updating along with the hardware.

Consoles are built for games, so the gameplay feels better. You can develop a games to 'feel' exactly right as all console specs are the same.

XBox vs PS3 - Well...let's just wait and see. No point getting hot under the collar unless you've played both. I'm never impressed by preview footage of games - this is marketing trickery that rarely lives up to it's own image. I remember being very dissapointed with MGS2, despite it still being an excellent game, just because all the preview hype video was movie stuff.

Personally I love my PC for FPS and strategy. The PS2 for racing and arcade type games (I have three PS2s now), and I fancy a Wii for the fun factor.
