Darren-K
my RS turbo was an awfull lot of hassle,. it had a engine rebuild, almost every part replaced, new managment chip, new plating,.new everything and it still never, ever performed 100% was sometimes realy quick tho, once ( an example ) it was dumping like every 1 second, without any intervention from me . sounded like a steam train coming over the hill lol anyhow, i had it almost 6 years ,. sold it realy cheap and the lad wrote it off 2 weeks later. SupraAyf
We bought a Special Edtn ST200 last year as a run-about and I was well pleased; right until the time it rained (3 days after purchase). It seems that the Mondeo rear light design (and rubbers) are prone to rapid decay so the boot begins to flood once the car is 3-4 years old. I was gutted. The water was 'swishing' around the back end like there was no tomorrow. I had to strip the whole rear end (internals) and then wait 10 days to get it to dry as the leather was in such a bad stagnant condition. It was sold 3 weeks later (no surprise there then), to a local bloke who was well chuffed with his purchase. The difference this time is he was getting a car that had been fixed!! Sold it for £650 more than what we paid for it though.
sdavies
Sounds like the exact same things gone/going as on my old P reg Fiesta... In fact the day after I traded her into the garage for my Supe, the cooling system went kaput... Oopsie. Is yours sounding quite "tappety" now too? She was quite rattly under the bonnet no matter how much adjustment to the valve clearances were done. The up and coming potential costs on keeping the ole Festa running was one of those things that tipped me towards getting the Supe when I saw her (seemed a no brainer at the time ). Don't get me wrong, I had many happy reliable years of driving out of the lil beast (I think I did > 50k trouble free MOT passing miles). supra sam
One of my mates bought a series 1 RS turbo a few years back the day after he got it the starter motor went...... a week later the fuel pump started leaking not so long after the wheel bearing went!......... Don't think I need to go on do I. Not even going to start going on about the guy I know with the sierra cosworth, let’s just say he has had a few "issues"
Guest festerdave
what supra-sam forgets to mention is the previously mentioned S1 RST was good enough to travel one million miles across the uk to pick up his japaneesey p#nis extension! all for "friendship" and a mcdonalds breakfast!!! however, i am not bitter. because supra-sam is an outstanding human being, who fitted my starter motor for me when it died! and he's buying me chinese tomorrow...
