Golddigga
Guys and Girls, I am possibly going to view a '93 L plate N/A this weekend. The guy says that it has done 129,000kms and that the speedo is still in Km per hr? Somebody else has told me that they all need to be converted when they come into the country is this true? Is there anybody out there still running kms? Also as the '93 is a relatively early model is there any major problems I should look out for? Even with 80,000 miles on the clock I have been told that the engine should still be quite bulletproof? Any view? I want to take the plunge and get an N/A but don't want to be a pile of shite Your views please!

Golddigga
Jamie, Thanks for the response. Is that both the speedo and odometer?
jim_supra
My car records mileage in kms, and the speedo face has been replaced with one that reads to 110mph. They do that as it's a cheap way to get round having to have the speedo reading in mph.

lockys96
i have the conversion gismo added. it just makes the car now read in mph, and clock up in miles ontop of the current km's on the clock. bugger
KaoriFan
i have 93 'K' plate and when i got it, had done about 82000KM, since then its been converted into Mileage and is at 87000 now on the odometer. my speedo is only showing MPH, but i want to get a dual MPH/KPH display in case i go abroad. I think this is only legal to do at the time of import, not 100% sure but have been told this a few times.
Big Ads
I thought if the car is pre 94 then it does not need to be converted. correct if wrong. My soop's Odo is in KM and my MPH is in KM/h
KaoriFan
re: speedo and odometer conversion: found this site, which shows you the steps to do the conversion: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/speedo.htm it may be of some use. sorry, if i should not have posted this link, as i have no idea who peter betts is. so feel free to remove it if there is a problem. i remembered this site from when i was looking at Supra's last year edited: i have no idea if this procedure will work, so am only posting the link to it. KaoriFan
i did ask about having the odo converted to true UK mileage, but was told it needs to be completely reset, and then wound up to the correct figure from the start, which can take a day or two. so i left it at the converted option that was already done

Jamie, your car has not travelled 50,000 kms. More like 49,000 . The other 1000 was wheel spin I suspect:Pling: I now drive in reverse to keep my kilometerage down
