terribleturner
Found today a hole in the back of the cam cover near the plenum that looks like it should have a screw in but doesn't. Checked a couple of other cars and they too are missing it. Anyone nticed this before?? Could be that they are polished and it may have been taken out and not put back. terribleturner
And as if magic....... As you can see it's near the pipes right at the back.
Max Headroom
If other cars are missing it I guess there wasn't meant to be anything there. IMHO OC.

Possibly someone bolted a bracket onto it for something like the FPR?? I definitely didn't bolt anything back in there though, thats for sure
TrickTT
There is a clamp which holds a pipe on mine. Think its the idle air control valve pipe.

True, but why do it in the first place if so?? Why would Toyota just decide to drill a hole in the cam covers and put a thread in it if it had no use?? im quite sure i havent got that hole but i've no way of checking as i havent got my car back yet. Possibly someone bolted a bracket onto it for something like the FPR?? I definitely didn't bolt anything back in there though, thats for sure You'll have to look now when you get it back. Think i looked at 3 cars that aall had the hole.

Homer
I'm pretty sure that hole isn't on the cam cover, but on the head itself. Just had a look at some pics of my cam covers and the hole was not there, but it is there on the head.

Darryll that picture in my 2nd post as you can see is the cam cover ITSELF and not low enough for the head.
