Are you full decatted? If so it should work OK, results vary a great deal though so you can't be sure until it's on the car.

PMSL @ *shudder*

Im gonna get one when i get my new NUR or RSR so will prob decat it too. MOT is in may so will be very shortly after that.

Cheers for the quick reply dude.

My car had a "Flame Kit" installed before I bought it. I was never able to get any flames though. Its wired exactly as stated earlier. Just the tip of a plug inserted into the exhaust thats connected to a coil in the boot, thats turned on by a switch at the drivers console.

I will see if I can get some flames next week when the Supe is back with full PHR mid-pipe and downpipe with new Tubby.

*double shudder* :)

So you are going to drill a hole in a brand new exhaust too, brave man ;)

I invested in a few flamer kits a while ago to make a fast buck on eBay, bought them in at about £15 and they sold for £70 or so without coil, HT leads or switches - even I was paying over the odds at £15! I never actually fitted one to my own car (MR2 at the time) but saw a few others with them on and they were 'ok'.

You can get some really clever kits from the US, ones with their own gas supplies for cool blue flames etc - be wary of the sites that tell you that a wire with a spark plug is enough though, you really do need the box of tricks to pulse the spark in order to get a decent result.

I have a few interesting links on a PC at home, I'll try and dig them out for you and post details tonight.

I'vw got a flamer kit on mine... Only works when your changing gear passed 2nd... Looks great.. At 90mph you can see the flame go over the top of the rear spoiler from the rear view mirror.

I can't say i've been pulled for it, but then again i don't have the tendancy to flick the switch on going past police cars :innocent:

I think they'd prob do you for something though..

Yes mr officer - That 15ft flame was down to my ecu problem.....

- Don't think they'd somehow have that one...

Did anyone spot the post I made earlier about flamers?

I've just made 10 sets for a company.

Included the control box, spark plug, long lead, coil and cable for £50 all in.

Yes you can make your own cheaper and I'll even sell a box of bits for you to solder together for £10 (you get the coil, lead and plugs etc)

The £50 only just covers my time to colder it together.

Regards

Pete

Sorry wrong there dude , you dont need ANY lights on a car or motorcycle or a windscreen or even a floor if it has a full chassis , and you dont even need to use your lights at night if the street lights are a certain distance apart !!!!
