Cat 1 difference on UK/US to J-Spec

Hey All,

 

Just a quick question, is there any difference in the flanges on the first cat between UK/US and J-Spec supras?

 

I remember seeing a while ago that Apexi made some Cat replacement pipes but they only fitted J-Specs, how come?

Hey Eyefi,

 

Thanks for the link, looking through that briefly it looks like the manifold to head stud pattern is the same, I am also sure this is the case otherwise the US turbo kits would not fit on the J-Spec motors.

 

The part I am interested in is the where CAT1 mates up to the turbo downpipe, this also looks the same looking through the MKIV website.

I got sent a J-Spec front cat in error when I bought mine - basically it was a little bit too short, at slightly the wrong angle and the stud pattern was the same but the studs were further apart.... I think that's what it was anyway. Either way it wouldn't fit :)

Anyone know where I can get a 3" - 4" UK/US spec replacement pipe for CAT1 by weekend?

My US turbo kit has a turbo downpipe that mates up to the UK/US spec CAT1, I have been told the RMM will do but I am not going to be able to get one by the weekend.

Put it this way, I had the first JDM Mongoose in the UK. When it arrived it was a UK spec. I went back to Blue Flame, and they drilled the flange and modified while I waited. Took about 3 hours inc removal and refitting.
