cainhead
Just driving home from a mates house the other side of time. Its raining and im driving carefully, when the old bill go past me on a roundabout. As we are off down the dual carridgeway hes in the fast lane and starts to slow down, which means im undertaking him. Then he follows me for 4 miles untill the lights come on and he pulls me on a slip road:( . He does the usual and can see I have no front plates. (My problem I know but I have just had the new bumper on and still debating on best ways of attaching plates). I explain this to him and hes goes off to his mate. Then he comes back and said that im lucky this time, as normally its a £30 fine and a court summons to explain why im driving with no front plate. Then he goes on to say that my exhaust is excessivley noisey and that I would normally get a fine for this also. Not saying my car is not noisey but ive heard alot worse. What bothers me is that he let me off with the plate thing because I had a valid excuse:innocent: , but for the noise level which was apparentley to high, (and I had no excuses for that), he also let me off. This makes me think that he was just looking for more things to moan about and that he had no clue if my car measured to loud, especially as he was not in a normal traffic cop car. Now my car is logged on there system with having these offences because to be honest, I dont think they had anything better to do. Sorry about that but I had to get it out. Rant over p.s excuse the spelling, its late.

cainhead
I totally agree. I know I got lucky with that, it was the way he was trying to find other things to bust me with. Im just unsure now of what to do about my exhaust. I know its not that loud, but do I risk being pulled again, and it already being noted on there system. Anyone know how this works? andrew7
Maybe he didn't want to stand in the rain giving you tickets.... Probably didn't put you on the "database" as he would have to explain why he didn't book you......
Gamer
Let's be fair here. First off you were asking for trouble with no front plate. Secondly, he let you off on both possible offences. Why the rant. You should be counting your blessings and on your way to sort that front plate out...
