Pete
Ok, very pointless thread, but I had to tell someone! Tonight we stopped off at a pub on the way home from Blenheim for some nosh and they had something different so I thought why not? A plate of steaks comprised from Kangaroo, Spring Bok and Ostrich! Sadly they'd run out of wild boar, but I'd had that before anyway. A Spring Bok is apparently a type of antelope - I had to look it up on Google. Makes a change from cow eh? LeeT
What's a kagaroo?
Pete
What's a kagaroo? It's a Kangaroos cousin and uncle to a Wallaby. It all tasted like red meat - not too much difference in flavour really. Especially once I'd added the mustard half way through

Supragal
What was it like? Compared to other meats?
Pete
What was it like? Compared to other meats? Very similar. The Antilope is basically venison - if you've tried that you'll notice a slight difference in taste. It didn't help as it was basic steak without any sauce, so where as you server lamb and beef differently it helps compliment and distinguish the tastes of the meat itself. They each tasted just very slightly different, but pretty much like any other red meat really. I'll stick to my Cow and Lamb in future, I just like to try new things at least once, snails, alligator, octopus etc. etc.
Jezz
Yum. Sounds nice. Love trying new stuff like that.

DamanC
Kangaroo is loverly! Like beef but with a peperami type flavour added Had this kangeroo bad boy in amsterdam, notice the scale, there not pissy wedges you get thats a whole potato sliced as a wedge (and that was the smaller version) http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/3173/imgp0733qh6.jpg
Jspec Germany
I've eaten them all and they'll all delicious. In Italy, I also had the horse and was quite pleased. Stay away from the Donkey ribs though. They were a bit fatty.
