wkdtime
After seeing the pictures of the burnt out Lambo with the occupants still inside, it made me think. Those with lambo door conversions, god for bid if they had a car accident and the car rolled on to its roof, how would they get out? The same goes for the Lambo, how would the occupants get out?, lets say they're still concous and a fire has just started, am i talking crap? stupra
Not talkin crap, i've thought about that before myself. Not good to be on your roof in any car with upward opening doors.

Especially if a fire has just started, in a car with conventional doors you have a hell of a lot more chance of forcing the door open and crawling out. keron
you would be fine as the lambo doors (for supras) open outwards first like normal, then upwards.....

psymon
Ive been upside down, and along the road for 50yds before stopping and the doors were damaged and wouldn't open. smashed the glass with my foot and crawled out.. The first thing that entered my head when the car came to a stop was fire. Very scarey..... I don't think it matters, if theres glass it can be broken. If in doubt carry one of those auto centre punches

stupra
you would be fine as the lambo doors (for supras) open outwards first like normal, then upwards..... They don't open wide enough to get out of before going up do they ?.
keron
They don't open wide enough to get out of before going up do they ?. yeh you can adjust them to how wide you want them to open. they can open as much as normal if you like...just depends on your own preference. KaoriFan
must admit, interesting thought this, not normally what you would think of. definitely a punch is the way to go, you never know. would the doors open enough if the person was injured? while i think of it, does it need a lot of force to kick the glass out? Ive seen people hit car windows with hammers and they have just bounced off so they are strong but a good kick shoud do the trick just dont forget to try to wind them down first and dont panic to much they generally dont set on fire anyway and if they do they dont blow up unless they have LPG etc in them. Nic
Ive been upside down, and along the road for 50yds before stopping and the doors were damaged and wouldn't open. smashed the glass with my foot and crawled out.. Same here, I rolled my first car 4 times and came to a stop upside down soaked in petrol (the fuel tank had burst). Very scary feeling sat upside down in a car with petrol all over you, listening to the engine coughing, and hissing. The windows had smashed, so my mate and I got out of there pretty sharpish, very fortunate to walk away with nothing more than a few bruises. That's an interesting thought though, never really considered how you'd get out of a lambo that was upside down! Side windows are double hard to break without a centre punch (sometimes even with one), but I don't think people should worry too much - in my experience it's EXTREMELY rare for a car to catch light after a crash. That's stuff for the movies. Sounds like the people in the lambo were very unlucky
kosmic
Those pics were pretty horrific. Think i will deffo be getting the roll cage in, at least as a safety measure and to somewhat retain some structure and shape of the car allowing the doors to open if the car did roll but i suppose even with a cage theres no guarantee. I would imagine that orignal lambo doors open out slightly first before up and even though the supra lambo conversions open outward, if you were upside down, you wouldnt be able to open them up in order to get out, so a definte no no.
