This "creeper" method is now the choosen method of the professional Car thief. Ive been subject to it myself, only they woke me with a gun to my head as they couldnt find the car keys - Police now advise not to hide your keys as these people are prepared to do what it takes in order to get them. They do advise you however to take a few simple steps to slow them down.

1. Remove the Alarm fob at night and hide it

2. have a hidden kill switch in the car

these 2 methods should be enough to give you time to at least fone the old bill while the scumbags are trying to figure why the car wont start or the alarm is going off - usually enough to send them on thier way...

The joke is, if you catch these fookers in your house the law still says you cant harm them - we'll il gladly do time next time it happens to me

I'm not sure this is as back and white as it sounds. There was a TV program on a while ago and it clearly stated that you are allowed to defend yourself if you fear for you or your family's well being, as long as it's not in a "pre meditated " way i.e baseball bat / gun etc. You cannot chase them out of the house as it's deemed as you and your property are no longer at threat.
