michael
It's the sort of thing you see in films but really don't expect to happen, I wonder how many more people are in similar situations right now? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/5285290.stm

penguin
the sick pervert took the easy way out - the punishment does not justify the crime in many instances

Mike
Horrible... don't think the details to follow will be too pleasant.. she must have had a certain amount of freedom to be cleaning the car..? I didn't know about "Stockholm syndrome"; 'Whereby some abductees gradually begin to sympathise with their captors'. Where does that come from then? michael
Where does that come from then? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm, Sweden in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from August 23 to August 28, 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their victimizers, and even defended their captors after they were freed from their six-day ordeal

Pete
All very strange. Kudos to the kidnappers for hiding her for EIGHT years though! That's gotta take some skill, especially if this was the first time she actually had chance to make a run for it.
SupraStar 3000
I honestly think we're ALL getting to blasé with crime and the media. On the news last night it reported the story near the end of the program between another average article and a sports item then started by saying works like "the missing girl found after 8 years missing was reunited with her dad today". Yes, so why make the fact she was held as a sex slave so trivial. That should have been the No.1 story.
Scoboblio
Right now they're not saying if she was sexually abused or not. He could have been a weirdo who just wanted a daughter etc etc, but the chances of that are sadly very low.

Charlotte
Weird situation. I suspect it will become clearer as the story unfolds. There was one in America too wasn't there? I watched the docu about it. She was held for years and then got found randomly, but the parents were accused of killing her. The person that you 'got back' would never be the same, poor girl. SupraStar 3000
the guy looks like a pedo to me. Sorry to say but I'm sure the poor girl will be traumatized for the rest of her life.

Charlotte
But if he was a pedophile, sorry to be grim but surely she would only have interested him when he first kidnapped her, then possibly killed her when the guilt consumed him. (I haven't read the full article about her age etc).
