Paul
Maybe I'm racist as well then?
Homer
all that = 30 mins. Like I said, don't get mad at the customs people. They have rules which will no doubt include checking the background of people from 'afgan' or 'arab' origin - that includes those that 'look' afgan or arab, which will include anyone with dark skin and/or and arabic name. The situation has arisen because of the reason I mentioned before, if anyone’s to blame its those persons.
jamesmark
WHAT IF....hmm....RECAP. Afghanistan Iraq Lebanon Palestine.. list is endless.... what was your point again? Ok if some white poeple decided to strap some TNT to them selves and wage a war against any muslim community and blow themselves up over there, do you not think that the public and polive over there would act in the same way as the British public and police are acting just now over here, yes they would, but luckily to the best of my knowledge the any asian community in modern times has had a white suicide bomber blow themsselves up on their land, we have and we are dealing with it. GeordieSteve
I just don't get it?!?!?!?! It's a security risk so you HAVE to check to avoid death!!! As I say I have a good few muslim friends and they know what's happening at the minute. Hopefully the elders will get this under control (if anyone can do it it'll be them!). It's a sad state but the race card (yes I said it) is a pathetic one. Oh and I haven't even MENTIONED the reaction I got on the weekend from black families for being a white skin head in combats.....I didn't class it as racist btw
KaoriFan
i am all for respecting another country, and if i lived abroad (Japan or China i will do one day) i would live by their rules. i am not racist (i know many say that when they are), but i am not, also i judge everyone by who they are, not colour of skin, religion, money, etc. i don't agree Shariah law should happen in this country, and really i think it's even wrong for a minority of the Muslim population to even suggest that. conversely, if i lived in a muslim country, i would abide by their rules. a lot say about muslims and terrorism. but white people do it as well, think apartheid in SA for many years, that was state sponsored terrorism, in many ways. also, i wonder how many from UK go to Far East and think about their customs. even something as basic as this - i have seen western people visit temples and religious sites, wearing t-shirts and shorts, which is offensive when people should be covered up. the rules we make here, we should live by when going abroad

My situation - Next time I will wear a suit. I must remember, tight top for the birds, forget about the birds when travelling to the US when surrounded by one celled morons. bondango
as KaoriFan pointed out, i can remember when i used to go on trips to buy cars in england, my fav being the Heathrow gate49 special branch questioning for at least 45mins everytime.. Were are you going? Purpose of visit? were are you staying? were will you be visiting? Why have you so much cash in your possession? have you a bank reciept for the cash? have you details of cars and owners your going to look at? How will you be coming home? expected date of departure? all this and more which included full search, all documents checked, and anyone in my company taken away and questioned in a seperate room, before they collaperated all the answers and were happy to let us go on our way. I had to put up with this for years....at least now my 45min trip to London/liverpool/leeds/newcastle takes that, and not the 3hours it sometimes did before. after a while it becomes part of traveling. But times have changed thankfully, and it hasnt happened in a few years :-)
Paul
Having been on the receiving end of the race card and the person involved having the morals of a piece of shit, I for one get sick to death of it being played more and more often. I would be happy to swap a couple of hours in customs for the week and a half I had to go through wondering if I still had a job because some low life decided he would play the race card to try and get noticed with the sole purpose of benefitting job wise and also a simple way of getting at me. Sometimes wish us 'white guys' could cry wolf at every oppourtunity too:)
