I figured i jsut come out and ask...

Can somebody define some of the slang words used in the UK to help me understand some responses on this forum?

Ive seen terms like "brill" and "chuffed" but dont know what they mean:rolleyes: . Everyone pitch in and educate my US mind on the woderful world of UK slang. This could be fun for everyone...:)

Hers a few that may help.

'mingin'...a term of endearment for attractive females, especially Royalty such as Camilla.

'am I bothered ?'....useful in conversations where you are totally absorbed in the topic

'chav'....a word we use for those who have exquisite taste in fashion and cars.

'a bit essex'....used to describe someone with an extremely high IQ.

'cork-head'....a member of a recently discovered colony of three-eyed stoat molestors living on a small island south of Bournemouth.

As long as you learn to get "Harry on the Boat" you'll be ok.

hahah..you'll have to explain that one to me as it wasn't on that big list. :search: :)

:) you own a Supra, and a very nice one too...everything else is incidental, or 'tosh and piffle' to use another slang term often heard in the clubs and pubs down here on a Saturday night.
