I know this forum is a friendly banter site but please could i ask for the above thanks adam Adam, This "banter" is relevant to the thread subject mate....besides which, this is a non-technical question so the conversation is always likely to wander a bit...get used to it...... dangerous brain
Well I've been and done the RAF aircraft technician thing. If like me you go support helicopter world you'll see more action than most army units ever did, last time I looked in me shoe box I had 7 medals in it and I missed out on 3 operations. Its stood me in good stead money wise when I've left as well. Quite a lot of our boys left and joined the Plod as well. My best mate works in the tri service AFCO in Bournemouth. I can get him to give you a call if you like, he's a top bloke and won't point you in the wrong direction (alot of sodding AFCO's point you in the direction they need today)

Kranz
Why not just skip the squaddie bit & join the Police now?? The job may not exist when you get out of the forces That means you can stay at home & play with your Supe all the time
SupraAyf
Why not just skip the squaddie bit & join the Police now?? But the military is the best job for a Supe owner as you always have an armed guard at the front gate. You park it at night and you'll know it will be there in the morning!
Andy-No-Knee
And then get posted some where for 2 years like the Province where you dont want to take it and it sits there getting covered in dust (if your lucky) or some tool of a RSM gets it towed onto another square in the middle of fekkin no where so it doesnt 'litter' his nice normal car park square! Ok you could sell it at that point, but what if you get a 6 month deployment to Bos/Kos. Are you going to want to sell it then??? Grrrr. Ok rant over..... Andy-No-Knee
Saying that, I think Arty OP Ack or any Spec OP Trade is good fun. Did a tour in Bos as an Spec OP Ack and saw alot and was apart from the big green machine. (And had the RMP try to fit us up on some jumped up charge to try and look good in front of their interpreter so they could try and shag her after - we got off it but what a bunch of cocks!) Good luck in joining the Army bud, but dont expect one grain of respect from anyone while your in the RMP as Army wide everyone thinks they are a bunch of lieing walts. To a man (and female monsters) all who I have met even on courses try and big time it up.
kamikaze
So whats the deal with Supe then? If i get posted away for 2 years is there a way i can leave it behind? Though TBH it would just be sitting there i may as well sell it.
Andy-No-Knee
Usually if you have a good RSM and thewre is room you can ask to leave it on a spear squre. It depends if you attached or posted (ie to Germany for 5 years etc) or just sent to a new theater to watch over the unit you are attched to (eg a specific Regt or Brigade)
owenreme
when i go away my missus will be looking after it!!! (MICH) cause she has one to. going door gunner in the AAC isnt as good as it was either job wise but they do get as much money as pilots now, but you got to be a 'bowser mong' for a couple of years first!!
