Misfire help

Wondering if anybody had any ideas on this one.

I have developed quite a bad misfire between 2500rpm and 3100rpm (yes its that exact) At 3100rpm the engine comes on songs again and u get quite a burst of speed. Only happens on part throttle. Full throttle doesn't do it at all. (yes, I'd love to drive full throttle all the time but the local plod might have something to say about it)

When its cold the problem is worse.

Car is a grey NA.

So far have changed plugs/leads/dizzy cap and arm.

Not made a slight bit of difference.

Any help guidance would really be appreciated cos I'm a bit stuck.

Somebody did mention about a 'top dead centre sensor' but didn't know anymore than that.
