Boost pressure anomalies

OK guys, first of all, please excuse my ignorance of most things technical and, if I do say something pretty stupid, please show some patience.

I have a Blitz SBC boost controller and also have a switch that allows me to alternate between sequential and TTC. Just recently, when on chanell 4 of my boost controler (the top setting) and in TTC mode, I have hit a peak of around 1.4 bar. Obviously, this was worrying and so I turned the controler down but the same thing happened. :conf: I then turned the controler off completely, and yet still got the same peak reading. How is this possible?

I then tried it in sequential mode and on channel 4 hit 1.25 bar. When I turned it off completely, I hit 0.9 bar. That too confused me as I felt it should be higher. Why? Well, I have no cats and a CW restrictor ring which I assumed would allow me to boost higher than 0.9 bar.

Does this make sense? Should I be getting a higher boost figure with the controller turned off?

Any information greatly appreciated.

I can go with that part but why is the boost peak the same with or without the Blitz controller on? Does it only work on the first turbo? And is 0.9 bar normal with no boost controler and no cats etc?

Well, it can only raise boost, not lower it below what it would otherwise be (much), so if you were boosting to 1.4bar without it you could well get the same boost with it switched on (unless you turn it up even higher). As for 0.9 BAR with no cats, that does sound low. Do you have a standard exhaust - that's pretty restrictive I believe ? Maybe your restrictor ring is a bit too small? I presume this was in a reasonably high gear, not just 1st and 2nd?
