Ye, the rents are cool about it. Its ok about keeping its running, my dad owns a car park (private) so I can drive it on there. And as for mods, I want to customize it so Im not sure if I would appreciate someone elses mods, and I wouldn't want to pay for them if they were soon to be removed. What do you think?

Thanks,

Huwt4ng:)

each modication you do to the car is going to push the price up of insuring it when u want to insure it. If I was 17 and getting a 300+ bhp car then that would be FAR too much power to be contemplating, let alone modifying the car to give 400bhp+ (which i assume you're going to be doing if you're modifying for 3 years or more)

I'd have thought the supra would need to be driven in that period to keep it running at all? Engines don't like not being used - car batteries will be exactly the same, and then to switch it on u'll have to drive to the nearest petrol station with a jerry-can in order to fill it up.. and what about warranty on the kit you are buying to install on the supra? they'll come with a warranty (usually a year, but depends on part) and if its not going to be used for 3 years, then u'll get it out on the road and the parts might be faulty?

I'd have thought to keep a car like that you'd need to get it out on a private test track or something occasionally to make sure its running ok - and then insurance for that as well......

EDIT: you've answered some of it

Moral of the story - £££'s £££'s £££'s

imagine trying to get the supra out to a carpark every weekend.

even if your dad owns a car park, what happens if someone walks accross and you him him,

plus a car park wont give the supra proper running distances, or road conditions,

unless your just going to practice donuts

so how you gonna get it to your dads private car park ?

AND -

your not insured to drive it are you ?

listen Huwt4ng i want a Buggatti Veyron but its outa my league,

i think you need to accept that a supra may well be out of your league , theres too many negatives with this wish of yours.,

and thats realy all it is, a wish.

out of interest, what have your parents said about this? I assume it'll be their garage you'll be occupying for the next X years, and I know my parents say things about my choice of cars now (even though i don't live with them anymore) AND I'm 25!

I would probably wonder the same thing if someone came to me with this idea, but you really have to judge every case on its individual merits, and "ifs" are always "ifs", like if the car got hit by a falling tree i wouldnt be covered. Not to quote Ewan Mcgregor, but at the end of the long way round he said "people dont do things because of ifs, what if this what if that", which i think is true, i choose to think positive. If you saw the car park, you would be surprised anyone every used it at all.

Thanks,

imo, its more logical to wait and save the money from insurance and buy a Supra, when prices get lower, and then use the cash for any mod's.

get a mkIII if you need a supra atm. still a great look even now.

guy parks one next to my mkIV in Tescos, and they both look good side by side :D

That is true....but it wont be my first car, it will be my Xth car, it will be my 21st birthday present to myself with 3 years modification behind it.

My 2 cents.......

Spend the next few years researching the car and what to look for when buying one what exact supra you want to pick up, what can be done what can't be done when modifying them ect. The other thing is if you did buy one now and "customize it" now, your ideas of what looks good when you are 17 and what looks good when your in your 20s are going to have completely changed! I did things to my first car that I would never dream of doing to the sup now! :)

sorry if any of thats already been said

Thank you, I appreciate all the time you are all taking to contribute to this.

To supra sam - I dont want to sound like I know everything (or anything, just in case someone challenges me on something). But I have a pretty good idea of what I am hoping my car to look like. And as I am taking such a length of time to create the car....if my ideas and opinions on the looks etc of the car change, I will be able to change them over time. Is you see what I mean?

Thanks,

Huwt4ng:)

P.s Pneumoni - Where is the lazer sight above the windscreen, the gunge tank behind the front wheel and where the hell did you get my plans from?
