Chris Wilson
I have a friend who has apparently seen a six speed manual N/A MKIV for sale. He was asking me about it. Is this the same Getrag box as the twin turbo model, with similar ratios? Can't say I have ever had a six speed manual in here.. Thanks. Digsy
Most likely a gearbox swap job from a TT perhaps?
Paul Laing
Hasn't Scooter got a 6 Speed N/A?
Gordon F
Later N/A's are six speed. From the info here ,under gear ratios, it would appear the ratios are not the same as the TT and also a different final drive gearing.

Branners
the later 6sp in the TT had different gearings as well so it might be the box from that one. JB
Scooter
Yep mine is a 6 speeder, it is a getrag box with different ratios. Driving wise there is a noticeable lower rev drop between gears, and it pulls all the way towards the redline in 6th approx 140-150 mph max ie at 4000rpm and an indicated 100mph i wouldn't call 6th a overdrive / motorway cruising type of gear. 1st to 2nd still a little clunky and same flywheel noises etc. Clutch alot lighter than my old uk 6 speeder but not sure if this is because the stock items are different or if either has a nonstandard one. I like it, very snappy get away, without bags of wheelspin at T junctions etc, which has been especially handy this winter. More quickish than very quick though IMO, so you (i ) may get bored in the summer months.
