Ambrose7
hi ppl i have the ABS light on the top right of the dash, and the caution light on in the middle of the rev counter, ive check the pads and their fine, the brake fluid has been toped up, and ive taken it into steve hill motorsport for them to take a look, they said i should take it to toyota so they can plug it into the diagnostic machine. so i went to my local toyota dealer, they went mental when i said its J-spec! almost threw me off the site! has anyone had this problem before? and does anyone know anywhere close to Berkshire were they will touch a j-spec ? many thanks
mawby
Not sure about local garages, but if they were unhelpful you should complain to Toyota GB as their dealerships are supposed to accept any Toyota car bought anywhere.
Ambrose7
yeah thats what i thought, this place must have been a private dealer or something like that because i was sure toyotas offical line was they would fix any car from any where in the world. Nic
I had a problem with the ABS warning light coming on a few years ago, once the warning light came on the ABS would not work. The cause of the problem was a faulty wheel sensor, initially cleaning the sensor and checking the wiring solved the problem but after a few weeks the light started coming on again. In the end the sensor was replaced and the problem was cured. The diagnostic code should tell you which sensor is not functioning.

Told them the year model, etc again got to "Is it an import or uk car sir..?" and they told me they were not taking on anymore import supras to their books.... WHAT A LOAD OF W@NK!!!!! Earthrokka
Why dont u boyz n´galz put one strong Email to Toyota UK or GB ..whatever n´tell ém about the double standard issue like not dealing with yer cars coz they come Toyota Japan ! 1) is it coz Toyota in Japan is so crap ? hehe.. 2) May be Japan is simply incapable of building a decent enough car for the UK dealers to service ? ooohhhh.... 3)or the UK Dealers dont know enough about these cars Then copy this E-mail to Japan n´let ém have a dig at each other.. Steve Cargill
Originally posted by Earthrokka 3)or the UK Dealers dont know enough about these cars This was covered in depth a while ago. Manuals for the J spec Supra are not available in English which makes it difficult for UK mechanics to give the Toyota level of service they could give to a UK car. TGB may point you towards JEM, a division of one of their dealers, who have the Japanese manuals and Japanese mechanics.

Dude:flame Dev lol.. Steve.. i think it is just another way of saying buy from us even tho´we´re ripping u off ! so .. there should be some sort of choice really .. especially if the UK stopped making these cars in 1995 or 96.. I loved this car from MK3 which i had in 1990.. (where Ashley Willis was still playing with his action man then ) LOL.. then the 4th Gen- blew me away .. i ´m still in love with it .. i may be in a position to buy a nice Ferrari one day .. but i could assure u that i still would go for the soop. Steve Cargill
I see the point, but there are differences and without the correct manuals they ca't be 100% that they treat it right. BTW it's not just Toyota that can crash a Supra. This is what a large specialist company managed to do to mine when the service manager was trying to diagnose a BHG. Steve Cargill
Hmmm, lets try again.... What you can't really see is the wing and bonnet also died in that incident
Earthrokka
I thought these things only happen in Mexico .. The quality of service we are getting nowadays is really crap n´getting worse..
CJ
I am slightly confused. Is there really that much of a difference between the J-spec and UK version? Considering that these people are all trained mechanics, surely there cannot be anything so drastically different that they shy away som dramitaically?
