defcom
I have driven 3 supras before a puchest my one each of the ones I test drove had a BOV fitted and induction kit., My supra is standard (at the moment) when I exelerate up through 2500rpm I hear a high pitch wining sound I cart say I notest it on the other cars I drove but they were alot more nosiey and could have coverd up the sound, My soop is verry smoth and quiet apart from the turbo nosie. the car performs exelent and the is no oil leeking from the turbos nor does it blow spoke!! Is it just me!!
Steve Cargill
Does is sound like drilling a metal sheet? Do a search for "death whine" sp? Hope that's not it....
wilfman
A lot of supe owners (incl myself), get a noticeable turbo whine, especially when the car is pretty quiet (i.e. std exhuast, etc). Nothing to worry about, unless it sounds like the death whine.
Marco
When my turbos were dying they had a really high pitched whistling noise. Totally different than the death wine. It was getting quite deafening after a while! They boosted quite good still, although not as good as nomal, and no oil leaks either...
defcom
the nosie is not that loud and it only does it when the first turbo cuts in and increses with the revs it could almost be discribed as a wisling sound, is it anything to worry about
Timwildman
One of the guys from work said to me, my turbos were noisy pulling into the car park at work, well compaired to his old 200sx. I guess the only reason they sound so noisy is because the first turbo comes in at 1500rpm. Most turbo cars it all starts at 3.5k, but at that rpm every thing else is making alot more noise. personally I like it but thats just me . p.s. mine makes a turbo noise, :D

I'm not saying you have a prob, just keep your attention to it and see if it gets worse.

Elliot
Is it definately coming from the turbo? Try turning your stereo off, it might be that it's not earthed properly! (that's why my NA's whining!)
