stuohy
Sorry if this is a repost; I have tried to search, but don't really know what for! [OOPS][/OOPS] I discovered yesterday whilst driving on that great London car park (M25) that below 12kph/7mph (details courtesy of road angel), the speedo seems to read in Km. This causes the autobox to change up then down repeatedly as the speedo switches between each setting. The speedo needle also jumps downwards at this speed. Not really a huge problem, but is this common behavior or should I look at getting a new converter? Si
geoffvalenti
Try a Thor one, unless you've a VVTi tiptronic, then you're stuffed 'cos none of them work properly No it's not normal behavior. I hate these damn converters. They just seem to be an endless sorce of trouble:( If I ever imported another Supra, I'd just stick a delimiter on it and leave everything else in Km. The speedo reads up to 120mph, after that who cares how fast you're going its an instant ban if you're caught You can get your true speed from the satnav or Road Angel etc.

As the ecu thinks it's ok to change down at 150mph, it does! Really we need an ECU internal hack to disable delimeting rather than capping the signal. I shan't hold my breath. Pete My problem is not the fact that the car won't go into 4th gear at WOT and mega leptons. I've never experienced that, and TBH, I doubt I ever will Sadly, my days of three figure speeds on public roads are all but gone, the penalties these days unfortunately outweigh the thrills, therefore IMHO, the risk is not worth taking The main problem I've got is with the traction control coming on for no reason. I know it can be switched off easily, and these days it's pretty much second nature to do so, it's just the odd time I forget to, the damn thing always cuts in at the most inopportune moment Remove the speed converter and it works perfectly all the time, apart from being inherently crap, but we all knew that anyway

Tell you what, I'll leave it on for the next few days and see how the Speedm8 handles it.

If the speedm8 does the trick I'll be over the moon
