defcom
can i put a packing peice under the frount shock where it meets the lower swing arm (10mm) to bring up the frount end. will this upset the handiling and tyer wear....!!!
Chris Wilson
OK, certain Eibach springs and wheel offsets will cause this. Do the tyres only rub over severe bumps, or do they rub during low speed manouvering? I sell various suspension kits, you would have to bring the car to me for me to offer more specific advice. i am in the west Midlands.
veilsideTT
might be a slight hijack (sorry) My uk car is the complete opposite. It sits too high on the front only. It did when i had the original wheels on and doesnt look as bad now with 19's but i still feel its high (too much gap between arch and tyre) Any comments appriciated. defcom
west midlands is a bit far for me I'm in the south east. the wheels only rub when the car is turning sharply or on full lock. it might be worth my while chainging the spring does any on know the type i would need and how much,, or would it be worth chainging front springs and shocks, the rubber boots look a bit worn on the shocks..can you buy the rubber on its own???? defcom
Ok I have just re-fitted the inner arches to see if that would make any difference....NOP Its still rubbing on full lock left and right, Would a 35 profile tyer make much diference
eyefi
how wide r the wheels? id take it to chris, suspension's a tricky business to get right. i think it would b really difficult for anyone to give u good advise without seeing the car.
defcom
Yep you right I just wish chris was a little closer. The only other option is replace the suspension then get it realined. there is a guy in Ipswich area that only deals in jap cars could get him to aline it up, whats the best value suspention set up to have??? and how much am I looking at??? and where do i buy it from??? eyefi
there r loads of suspension kits out there, but as u now know from the previous owners actions, just bolting anything on can (and probably will) lead to problems. it may b yr wheels, or it may b both. get a good suspension specialist who knows supras to have a look at it. chris is the man for the job, he has developed a full custom suspension set up, anyone who has it installed has nothiong but praise for it. the extra 4 hours it would take to go see him and get his evaluation of yr setup, is less time than u (or any other general mechanic) would spend haphazardly guessing with it and still ending up with a far from optimised setup. no offence intended good luck with it.
