We've fitted hundreds of the Ai606 and I've never yet had an immobiliser on one of them go faulty. (there's a first time for everything though). Are you saying that is you connect everything as it should be, but splice a positive directly to the starters soleniod, it will crank but not start, yet if you remove the OE cable, and put a positive on the same terminal, it will start? - Thats very confusing, (and again disregards the alarm as one immobiliser circuit would have nothing to do with the other immobilised circiuts) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm wondering if the park/neutral switch has more going on in it than meets the eye. Looking at the wiring diagram attached it appears that by splicing wire 6-5 it should make the car think it's in par/neutral and allow the car to start. However on the Service hints on the image attached to the next post, it would seem to suggest that there is more going on with the switch than just a simple "open/close in this situation" direct to the starter. From the look at it, pins 5 and 6 are the positive and ground. I then looking at the attached diagram here, need to connect either 4 and 7 or 4 and 10. This would effectively be "fooling" everything else into thinking it's in neutral or park. Is this right or am I getting the whole positive/ground bit wrong? TLicense Posted March 1, 2004 Author Share Posted March 1, 2004 OK I've sorted it. Basically, the park/neutral switch had moved to being in reverse or drive. I've managed to by-pass it by connecting pins 6 and 5. (I've now removed said switch completely) I've also learnt how to read electrical drawings. Not as hard-core as they look really.
