Need4Speed
Anybody know how I get it to say Km rather than miles on the ODO? - by which I mean the actual word not how the numbers clock up.
Matt Harwood
John, take the odo apart, and look at the legs across the top display section, you may find one has been cut and soldered to the pin next to it. I believe you can do this another way by moving components on the board, but I've never done this as soldering a leg is much easier
dude
Its also possible to get the odo alltered to read the correct mileage in miles ie if it was 56,000 km i can get it alltered to read 32,000 miles it will then rack up in miles Dude:flame Dev

Cheers Matt. I'm converting it all back to kms at the moment, and assumed there was a jumper somewhere I hadn't found. Everything is going back to original settings except the speed limiter. Here's an appeal to everybody who converts Jap imports. PLEASE don't cut wires right on the connecter plugs! I'm doing some pretty tight soldering on some VERY short wires! John, Take at look at Pete Bett's instructions for doing the reverse, should help. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/odometer.htm
Need4Speed
I was hoping I'd find evidence that this hade been done Jake, and therefore would be easy to reverse. But I found what must be a UK spec ODO. Any suggestions?
Jake
I don't suppose very many MILES to KILOMETERS conversions have been done. Beats me. Personally I'd just leave it but I guess you're doing this because the car is in France most of time, right?
dude
Originally posted by Jake Clocking cars is illegal Dude. I'm suprised you're advertising it on here ! How is that clocking a car then Jake , it is merely making it read the correct mileage as its now racking up in miles not KM's otherwise if you had 100,000kms on a car and it had a conversion i suppose you would want it to appear that it had done 100,000 miles i dont think so , its actually not illegal to allter a speedo at all but it is illegal to say that the mileage is genuine when it isnt !!!, its also not illegal to zero a speedo i thought being Judge Jake Dredd you would know that , by the way i only know of one place that does this due to the speedo style so if anyone wants the speedo alltered to the equivalent mileage as the KM's passed ill get it done (except for Jake , he doesnt care) if you want the car clocked find someone to do it yourself !!! TLicense
Dude, Please please tell me how how much you want to do this to my car. I've been wanting someone to do this for ages!!!! PM me if you wish
dude
No need to PM dude , the place charges £80 and the speedo is very easy to ship as it comes out of its housing with 3 screws , it takes over 3 days normally to allter a speedo as they can only do so many miles per day . !!! toyotasuprauk
Is there anyway to tell if when an odo was converted from KM to miles the mileage would have been correctly converted at the same time so as not to go from 50,000KM to 50,000 miles, but 50,000 KM to 30,000 miles etc? I was taking the piss because you'd ballsed-up your Km to Miles conversion. 56,000 km i can get it alltered to read 32,000 miles 56,000 km is quite a lot more than 32,000 miles. I've just worked it out, it's 34,796.78 miles
dude
Just Divide by 1.6 , is that right ????, the firm will put it to anymileage but i told em to work out the correct mileage on the one they have at the moment !!! What? I can't make sense of what you're asking. Taking the first part: Is there anyway to tell if when an odo was converted from KM to miles Not from the Odo itself. Some garages will issue a certificate stating what mileage it was converted from but obviously they'll only do this at the time of the conversion

TLicense
Cheers Dude, I guess the car won't run without the odo in? Might see if I can do this at the same time as having my seats re-furbed. Cheers
toyotasuprauk
It will still run without the odo in at least I cant see why it shouldn't.

Need4Speed
If nobody else has anything constructive to say here I'm unsubscribing. On the WSB subject, the Japanese factories know the series doesn't count for much outside UK.
