Justin
I've got the horrible gei 1993 orange ones and want the nice newer, wider clear ones. I have to say I am confused by the different types around. Mine is a 93 GZ so have a few questions before I know what to buy: 1. How many types are there? I've seen the ones with orange lens covers and ones that are pure clear (like Terminators) plus the horrible old type like mine so I make that 3 types. 2. What harness do I need to fit my model? 3. If you have the clearer type I presume you need orange bulbs. Where do you get these from? Help? J.
Steve Cargill
I got the Toyota ones including harness and bulbs. They need some soldering to fit, don't ask me exactly what though. Soonto_HAS_soop
Has anyone tried fitting the facelift front indicator lights to a J Spec 93-96.5 model (probably yes)? The only problem I can see, that is always raised, is the facelifts use these as the sidelights. But would the indicator bulb holders be the same on the J-spec 93-96.5, as the facelifts are all J's??? Anyone understand what I mean? Ben.. Sharpie
The ALL clear ones are from JPS from what I have seen. The Toyota ones have the orange inside the lense, I think. And then you have the original orange 93on OK, you then have custom ones like dudes and then some wire up the fog light and swap the bulb and use them as indicators. What I was asking previous to that though is, that if you get a J Spec 94 with orange lenses, and wanted to update to the facelift indicator/sidelight variants, do you have to modify the indicator wiring or does it just plumb in? Ignoring the need for a new sidelight location. Ben..
Terminator
Mine came from the states. They came with stock plug which did not match my loom. So I ordered the right plugs( then short connectors at the back of the lamps) to solder on as I did not want to have to pull the car a part and unsolder the lamp when the front comes off again. It only took Mr T. six month to get the wrong part (right number) then by magic one more month to get the right ones. I thing I had to shave a few mm of a lug to get the holders to fit. They are completely ( jet washer) water tight. You have to drill another fixing hole in you bumper if you want three point anchorage. They may wobble if you just use two. JMHO Seeing the old orange blobs in your you car along side mine the other night, the difference was very satisfying.
Paul
Termi, My JPS ones wobble, I removed the top stud as it was nowhere near the same centre position as the orig. ones. Is your top stud set off to the side a bit, if so then drilling a fresh hole and me putting back this stud will stop the 'wobble' ? Tried trim tape but no good. michael
Dan @ DCDezigns bought a load in from ProCarParts a while back - you might need to construct your own harness though, if I can do it anyone can
