kslb
My 98 vvti is in the garage and not running. just to give you the story they had my motor in and uprated the engine internals in prep for the big power next year they also put in 680cc hks injectors and rail and an apexi avcr it was then given back to me to run in and i completed 546 miles and took it back for oil change for fully synthetic was then gonna do another 400 miles and get it re mapped but when they had it in for the oil change they melted the ecu. it also has dastek piggyback. they have put in a brand new ecu and apparently "nothing happens" not having any more info than this is hard enough but if anyone knows what questions i should be asking them it would be appreciated. is the ecu power input fused? They have said that they are trying to get the pin outs including ohms but being a bit of techno biff dont really know what this means but if anyone can help would be great. i am getting a bit annoyed now [ANGRY][/ANGRY] and would love to know what to do by the way its a j spec manual vvti 2jz gte (98)

kslb
well the garage owner took it for a test run and i think he had a play with the avcr but still dont know how this could melt the ecu. the ecu circuit board had a large black spot and melted. any idea
Alex
This sounds too me like there is a short circuit in the wiring to the ECU. I would.. A) Remove all non stock items from the wiring loom. B) Check all earth points on the chassis for a loose earth C) Check all the fuses! Obviously C is easiest so do that first
