Ive later realised the back tyres should be 245's on a wider rim. My car has 225 fitted all round on the oz's. Ive now checked the original alloys and they are all 16 x 8 JJ 50 fitted with 225's How come ive ended up with all the same size, did any ever run with all the same size? and is it safe as it is? The oz's are on spacers which i dont like plus it seems to make the wheels stand out a little further than the originals do. Any help would be gratefully recieved. boombastictiger Posted August 9, 2006 Share Posted August 9, 2006 u NEED the wider tyres at the back, especially if you mod ur car and boost the power the wider the better, u have alot of power at you foot, the wider the tyres the better grip and control...U got 230 on a na at rwd...thats alot of power....320 + with turbo... Rob Dublin Posted August 9, 2006 Share Posted August 9, 2006 In the dry that certainly is the case but I thought that the wider you go the less grip you may get in the wet due to aqua-planing. merckx Posted August 9, 2006 Share Posted August 9, 2006 You won't have any problems running the same size front and rear, my car came with 255's all round.
