JZA80 93 vs later model differences?

I'm in the process of inspecting a 93 model Supra TT 6spd which I will possibly purchase within 2 weeks. However, the owner states that he has been told that some of the items on the car (such as brakes) have been upgraded to 98 spec items.

My question is, what sort of items are different between the two models, and more importantly, how to tell this difference upon inspection? In addition, is there any technical problems upon doing such an upgrade to the car (the car has been freshly imported).

Apologies if this thread has already been covered previously.

Thanks in Advance.

If the brakes have been upgaded they will be 4 pot on the front and 2 pot on the rear and not the type of caliper thats slides on a carrier , when you look thru the wheel all you will see is a caliper , no slider !!

There's a great many differences between models, GZ, RZ-S Facelift, VVT-i, etc. Not all are known about either, it's very hard to give a specific list to be honest.

Most common changes to be made are cosmetic such as the rear light cluster, dash (facelift has a boost dial), front bumper, headlights.

The only way to tell is by experience when looking at the car, some items will be obvious but others won't...

Ben..

I've got temperature, voltage of the battery and fuel gauge.

(I think......)
