Petty Barstewards!

I got asked why I have to leave it running when I get in (politely), I said to protect the turbos and she said it wakes her up after trying to sleep after a night shift! After that I idled it around the streets for longer and switched off almost as soon as I was home - and about a month later got my shitter car to drive.

Funny thing is they were OK with me but her daughter became a real bitch (about 9 years old), kept shouting 'crap car' and stuff as I drove past and making bitchy comments about my girlfriend!!!! I left it alone and never said anything because it was nothing more than that (and she's only 9!!), but god knows what they must have been saying about me inside the house for her to get like that!!!

If I were this guy I would go over nad have a polite word along the lines of "Can you help me out and try to keep the noise down!!"

The minute you start sending official letters from solicitors and councils it all goes a bit nasty. I had a row over parking at my first house. I was about 23 at the time and we had a drive at the rear of our house and an alleyway with access. The guy on the end of the row of 4 terraces parked his car in the alley blocking it. I did ask him to leave me room on a number of occasions but he said the land was his.

Checked our deeds and eventually sent him a solicitors letter. Thats when all the fun and games began. This guy was so unlucky, he tried to damage my car on 3 occasions and I caught him everytime and he must have thought I was somekind of stalker watching him.

One night my security light went off at the back near our new car. We'd only had it a couple of days and paid 10K for it. At the time it was a mega amount for a car personally. As the security light went off I was in the kitchen making a brew. Instead of going out the back ?I sussed it was this guy and ran around the small block of 4 houses and came out behind him!! He didn't know I was there! He picked up a brick in his garden and waited for my security light to go off, as he lifted it to throw it at my car I whispered "I wouldn't do that if I were you!!"

He shit himself and ran into his house. I just shouted through his open kitchen door, "Whatever happens to my car happens to you. Think about it??" Things went quiet for 6 months.

The last occasion was at 3am and he came back from the pub (aftertime) and thought I'd be asleep. Thing is is I'd been out on a do in Manchester and had only just got home. I had only had 3 pints all night and was quite sober. He kicked my back wing of my car and as the alarm went off, I was there in about 5 secs. He couldn't believe it!! He said that 2 kids had just run off!! He then took a couple of swings at me me but missed as he was a bit "merry". After a bit of ducking and diving and generally taking the piss out of him, the police arrived and he kicked off with them!! Game over. Got banged up and we never had an issue after that.

Must admit that the 12 months of conflict I did find very stressful. Apologies for the "war and peace" response.

I used to work in the environmental health dept and we dealt with noise complaints. Each authority will be different, but a complaint has to be justified. It has to affect other neighbours and to keep the complainant happy we put in noise monitoring equipment in the room they are most affected in. This is in relation to time and evaluated. Most authorities dont want to get too involved unless its clear cut, well our authority didnt and even after puttin monitoring equipment inmost cases were complainants own thresholds.

Ask your other neighbours if they feel the same way, or even get a petition off them.

The guy that i'm 99% sure is generating the complaints is a real miserable type with nothing better to do, if you can imagine Victor Meldrew without the humour and a bad attitude,

I know most of my neighbours, and if there really was a problem they would just come and tell me, i'm a nice guy (providing you don't really piss me off;) ) in fact most of the neighbours come and ask me for help if they have car problems:) like a said it makes me want to go out there and rev the nut off the car, but i wouldn't want to upset anyone else, its just the fact that this twat wants to pick on me in the most unjustified and cowardly way possible, that winds me up.
