spackrackman
About to go BPU, and I was thinking that the best gauges to go for were an EGT and an AFR. Where do people put them? I quite like having a clock! I have a sbs i color going in, but was told that its over 400 quid for the extra AFR harness.. OUCH. So advice would be welcomed on where to put the gauges and what types you think are best and are these the best to have. jonnie
wkdtime
Boost, AFR, Fuel pressure are the most important in my book, EGT will be next on the list. Thought about the Double pod on the side?

Thought about the Double pod on the side? Will have boost on the Boost contoller, The AFR would change if the fuel pressure was dropping(am I right?) I like the idea of the Pod on the drivers side. Just getting a pod to fit both gauges. Who do both an EGT and AFR that would fit the same pod?

Yup your right, But the AFR gauge just gives you an idea of the readings and is not an atual representaion, If i was pushing more power espcially if im using an FPR then id defo like to keep an eye on the Fuel pressure. Just extra safe.
Supragal
apexi will do loads of gauges in the same range ie the same size

At the risk of advertising in tech thread only £269 here including postage Jonnie if that helps. FPR = Fuel Pressure Regulator

If you have an AFR gauge you don't really need the EGT gauge as well. The SBC i-color can monitor A/F mixture, fuel or oil pressure and oil or water temp (with the addition of extra sensors). If it was me I'd go for the AF sensor, oil pressure and oil temp.

Right the reason I want the gauges is so when I muck around with the Boost I can see if I am starting to push the engine.. What are the most important things to watch when upping the boost? Is a rise in the oil temp as good an indication as watching the EGT rise? I just want to play with my boost controller but be able to monitor "things" so I dont push the engine/turbos to premature distruction?
