Guest mk47
http://www.creationapologetics.org/arab.html briefly scanned over this and i say its bullshit.. i.e. This annual pilgrimage to the Ka'aba, which Islam claims was built by Abraham and Ishmael, with its elaborate ceremonies, had been practiced by pagan Arab tribes for centuries before Muhammad was born. He was turned back by the Meccans, so he signed a 10-year ceasefire known as the 'Treaty of Hubaybiya', which relinquished his claim of being "the prophet of Allah." Just two years into this 10 year peace agreement, in A.D. 630, Muhammad broke the ceasefire and took over Mecca. At first, he allowed pagan Arabs to continue in the hajj, mingling with the new Muslims in the ancient rituals. Then he gave the pagans four months in which to convert to Islam or be killed. sourced from the link posted by dave. im very sure thats not the real story. Guest mk47
thats the thing nowadays media can say what they like and people will believe it, to the extent that some people can put up some crazy links with no proof or knowledge to back the claims. no offence to you personally dave, but you put yourself on the spot there with being the hero putting up a link to something preaching bullshit
Homer
This whole middle east crisis is very close to my family and I'm extremely concerned about the future in the middle east. My Brother in law is half Lebanese - in fact his father is a famous (now dead) warlord. My BIL is a very British guy - public education, ex under 21 England Rugby player, etc. But he's now in Lebanon trying to secure his families release to the UK (or anywhere safe), but I and my family are extremely concerned for his safety. My sister is in pieces but understands his need to try and save his mother and sister. He is due back tomorrow or the next few days with them, I hope so much he successes My parents are going to take in any of the family that can make it to the UK. This isn't a remote war, it affects normal British families too.
